France
Philippe Starck is a French designer known for his interior designs as well as the production of many consumer goods.

He studied at Ecole Nissim de Camondo in Paris, and created his first design firm in 1968. One year later, Starck became the art director of his firm along with Pierre Cardin. Since 1975, he has worked, both as an interior designer and as a product designer.

In 1982, Starck designed the interior for the private apartments of the French President, Francois Mitterrand. He has added many items to his list of works since then, including yachts, a mouse for Microsoft and a new packaging design for a beer company. Most recently, he began creating inexpensive product designs for the American retailer, TargetĀ®.

The primary design focus of Philippe Starck is useable household items, in lieu of creating any single expensive piece. There are no limits to the products which he designs, as he has designed such items as stylish toothbrushes and even a lemon press.

Currently, he lives in four different cities, Paris, New York, Burano and London
